Welcome speech to the students, teachers and staff who are on the Civil Disobedient Movement (CDM)
From the Chairman of Interim University Council (IUC), University of Medicine – Magway (UMMG)
24 August 2021
Firstly, it is our greetings to be safe and healthy to all the UMMG persons who have been bravely standing on their rights and against State Administrative Council (SAC).
It’s a great honour for me to be the first Chairman of Interim University Council (IUC) of UMMG which emerged from the unity of UMMG Students’ Union during revolution. UMMG - IUC is officially acknowledged by the Ministry of Education, Interim NUG.
UMMG – IUC was established on the 19th of May 2021. Since then, the charter of IUC has been firmly vitalized and the council has been finalizing the ‘Online campus and Learning platform’. Besides, the first online course will be starting soon in accordance with the visions on education.
To realize the education visions of the IUC, our best effort will ensure that the education system is based on not only applied medical lessons but also the culture of critical thinking and analyses which are crucial elements in making reforms of the systems and the education chapter which needs to have its conceptual roots cut from the Military slavery education. At the same time, the continuing medical education system are enabled for UMMG students during this revolution periods.
We would like to inform you about the joint missions with our partners: UMMG Alumni and UMMG Students’ Union, so that we always monitor and welcome the attitudes & desires, needs and recommendations from the current graduate/post-graduate/ PhD candidates, CDM teachers and staff of UMMG.
In fact, you all see that many professionals graduated from UMMG successfully contribute in various fields at national and international levels as UMMG stands with the good reputation and the unique honor as ‘Union University of Medicine’.
Also for the record, we would like to congratulate all the students, teachers and staff who have been bravely fighting in ‘Spring Revolution’. You all are the Honourable Heroes of the University.
Finally, the plans are made for our mother UMMG for the time being in the revolution and the following rehabilitation phase after our victory. Those will be implemented in accordance with the policies and the goals of the IUC. And please allow me to conclude that all the students, staff, teachers and IUC are urged to work together in mutual trust for implementing further plans.
Thank you
Chairman
